Is Your Skin Sick?

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It can have issues of it's own and it can also reflect underlying issues from other health conditions.

Skin colour or tone: Healthy skin has an even colour and tone. Blotchiness and changes to the underlying colour can indicate environmental damage or underlying issues such as stress, poor diet and lack of sleep.

Dryness: Healthy skin is not dry, itchy or scaly. Effective moisturising is needed by using topical products, staying hydrated and preventing trans-epidermal water loss.

Texture: Uneven texture is a sign of dysfunction, whether this be in the form of blemishes, open pores or roughness. Exfoliation, cleansing and re-balancing the skin is needed. Underlying issues such as diet, stress and environmental pollutants can also affect skin texture.

Sensation: This is often overlooked. Your skin will tell when and where it is feeling unwell. Stinging, burning, tightness and itchiness are all sensations that are telling you there is an issue that needs addressing.

Like all areas of health, prevention is better than cure. Early intervention when prevention is no longer possible is the quickest way to prevent future problems and address the current issues.

Visit your local stockist or our online Skin Concierge to see how we can help put your skin back on track.
